In my house, we are all big fans of iced summer drinks.

Especially in the summer months, I have published some delicious drinks such as the non-alcoholic strawberry-mango daiquiri, sunshine tropical smoothie, iced tiramisu latte, and dark chocolate coconut cooler – and today I have another super quick and simple recipe for you all – Brownie flavored frozen hot chocolate!

Recipe Inspiration

The first time I discovered this, Brownie flavored frozen hot chocolate was in New York City many years ago.

It was one of the most luxurious, icy, and velvety chocolate treat I’ve ever tasted.

Since then, I’ve been making this Brownie flavored frozen hot chocolate at home, and it’s one of the most requested drinks in my household.

What is a Brownie Flavored Frozen Hot Chocolate?

The reason this drink is designated as a frozen hot chocolate is that; it’s an icy beverage made with a flavorful combo of a hot cocoa mix, milk, brownies, and ice – blended into a tasty frozen treat.

The flavor and texture of this frozen hot chocolate are quite similar to that of a hot chocolate, but it resembles more like a cold slushy.

A fun and delicious summer treat that appeals to people of all ages!

Ingredients required to make Brownie Flavored Frozen Hot Chocolate

The base recipe uses just milk, hot cocoa mix, and ice. But to give this drink a yummy twist, I decided to add some homemade brownies.

» Brownies – homemade brownies are the perfect dessert to quell anyone’s sweet tooth, and they can be eaten at any time of the year. These Fudgy brownies are egg-free, have a wrinkled top, and so delicious!

» Hot cocoa mix – Not a fan of cocoa mix, use real cocoa powder instead.

» Milk – I have used regular milk; however, you can use coconut milk or any plant-based milk for more flavor.

» And of course ice cubes.

» Toppingswhipped cream frosting, brownie crumbles, edible chocolate pearls, colorful marshmallows – create the most ultimate chocolaty drink!

How to make Brownie Flavored Frozen Hot Chocolate?

The first step – Bake the brownies

Combine all the ingredients listed under ‘Brownie’ in a large bowl and mix until the batter is smooth. Pour in a greased and lined baking tray and bake @350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.

Allow it to cool completely. Then cut the brownies into small pieces and set aside.

The second step – Prepare the cocoa mix

Heat milk, honey, and hot cocoa mix in a small saucepan. Mix until it just combines. Remove from heat and allow the mix to cool.

How to make Frozen Hot Chocolate

The third step- Assemble the frozen hot chocolate.

Transfer this chocolate mix along with ice, vanilla extract, and cooled brownies to a blender.

Brownies will grind down into little crumbles. Blend until it sort of looks like a slushy. Once you have achieved that consistency, fill up your mugs.

Serve immediately topped with whipped cream frosting, colorful marshmallows, brownie crumbles, some chocolate sprinkles, and enjoy!
