Learn how to make Karwa chouth diya or lamp? Please excuse the picture quality, it’s a cloudy and rainy day and that is clearly visible in my pictures. I have tried my best to get the clear shots and give you an idea on how to prepare Karwa chouth diyas. Procedure is pretty simple. Be creative and innovation as much as you can. Knead a tight dough. Take a katori or mould of your choice and grease it well with OIL. Please do not grease with ghee or butter as it will become firm when frozen and diya will stick to it.
Follow the step by step guide below to make your very own colorful diyas this season.
Let’s begin by kneading the dough.
Take some dough and roll a big ball out of it.
Assemble ingredients to make a diya.
After shaping the diya, place some rice grains at the bottom – this will keep the cotton bati in place.
Place cotton bati in the center.
Sprinkle some more grains on top- this will prevent cotton bati from sinking once the ghee melts.
Fill the diya with ghee.
Freeze the diya till ghee freezes.
Gently take the diya out. If it is stuck, use a spoon and apply some light pressure.
Diya is all set and ready.
Let your imagination run wild and decorate your diya!!
HAPPY KARWA CHOUTH AND HAPPY FASTING DEAR FRIENDS!!
