Baked tortilla strips – a versatile topping to soups and salads. Great way to use any leftover tortillas. In this post I have used flour tortillas but you can use any kind of tortillas. If you prefer you can season them with salt and pepper, apply some olive oil and bake them – enjoy it as a snack. Super tasty, crunchy and easy to make. Serve them as a side – cut tortillas into wedges, bake and serve them with a dip/salsa. A healthy way of enjoying tortillas with your favorite dip.
INGREDIENTS –
2-3 tortillas cut into strips
METHOD-
Preheat oven to 300 degree F. Cut tortillas into strips and spread them out in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Bake them for about 6 minutes on one side, turn and bake again for 6 minutes until crisp and light brown – not too brown. Serve them as with a dip or over soups or salads. I stored mine in a plastic ziploc bag, and they were crisp even the next day!
Thank you!
If you are looking for white tortilla recipe then all-purpose flour with baking powder and some shortening is good. This will make soft textured white tortillas.
But for yellow tortilla then Masa Harina is required. It will have a texture of corn flour (Makkai ka atta).
Hope this helps!
Thank you. I heard corn tortillas require a special corn flour called masa harina if that helps. I don’t trust anyone else but you to get it right! 😁
Will look into your request, Mrs. G!
