Homemade Vegan Strawberry Jelly
Treat your little ones to this homemade 5 ingredient Vegan Strawberry Jelly. This wiggly jelly is made from fresh fruit juice and contains no additives, colors, or preservatives. A fun treat for all ages! Homemade Vegan Strawberry Jelly
Anyone who lays their eyes on a wobbling, shape of jelly is sure to burst out laughing. At least my kids do. There’s something about jelly that makes them super happy.
Maybe it’s the shape – because it wiggles as it’s shaken. 🙂
Perfect After-school snack!
When my kids come back from school they always clamor for something sweet and delicious to eat. This is embedded in my routine and my brain is already ready to fulfill their demands in a healthy way. After they wash their hands and slip into comfortable clothing, a cup of the most delicious gelatin-free jelly is ready at their service. 😉
But why gelatin-free jelly?Homemade Vegan Strawberry Jelly
It’s because I prefer to avoid all the artificial flavors, colors, and other un-pronounced ingredients in my kid’s diet.
And if you are like me, a parent that worries about what goes into store-bought jelly, then this gelatin-free jelly is the perfect solution for you.
Its slippery and moist texture will bedazzle your kids taste buds into a delectable heaven.
It’s a fun treat for all ages!Homemade Vegan Strawberry Jelly
I have to share a little secret here. Not only my kids, I love jelly too. 🙂 🙂
Eating jelly awakens my inner child as well. While eating this scrumptious little blob, my kids and I play around poking it, jiggling it, and making it dance all over our plate.
All in all, this piece of delectable goodness is a must-try recipe!
Now onto the recipe!Homemade Vegan Strawberry Jelly
I love the simplicity of this recipe and have made it several times in my kitchen. All it requires is 5 basic ingredients and the time to set.
I have used fresh strawberries here but feel free to experiment with the fruit of your choice. Some of my other favorites are –
- kiwi and the options are endless.
Boil the fruit juice of your choice along with water, sugar and agar-agar powder. Add extract, and allow it to cool for few minutes. Pour into cups and chill until set.
Since no artificial color is added, the color of jelly will depend entirely on the strawberries. The sweeter the strawberries, the richer the color. But the color doesn’t seem to matter to the kids at all. The will love the jelly anyhow!
Want to fancy it up a bit?
Instead of pouring the jelly into individual servings, make fun shapes out of it. Pour it into –
- the ice cube trays
- square tray and use a cookie cutter to make fun shapes
- or in a fancy mold – star wars, stars, gummy bears, minions and many others kid’s favorite characters.
This will make a perfect play-date treat or after-school snack for kids. Just like my kiddos, your kids too will love this jiggle-wiggly jelly. 🙂
