    Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake - Ruchiskitchen

This Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake is an absolute treat any time of the year. Flavored with rose petals jam, this pretty pink drink is all natural, light, fresh, and subtly sweet!

Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake served in glasses garnished with pistachios

Holi is just days away, and it’s time for some fun-frolic, colors and Thandai. For those of you who are not familiar, Thandai is a traditional drink served mainly on the occasion of Holi. Holi without Thandai is incomplete. But not everyone likes Thandai, especially my kids.

Therefore, to entertain them I have a pleasant drink on hand. I plan to surprise them with a rich and creamy Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake. This milkshake is a cool and refreshing drink made with milk and special spice-mix. It’s everyone favorite as it is flavored with rose petals and has the right amount of thickness. And not to mention, the flavor of strawberry will surely please their taste buds.

    Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake

    What is Gulkand!

Gulkand or gulkhand is a sweet preserve of rose petals. Where ‘Gul‘ comes from the Persian word ‘flower/Rose‘ and Khand in ‘North’ means Sugar. Collectively it stands for Rose petal preserve made with sugar. Gulkand is a sweet Indian delicacy that is used to prepare sweets and other dishes. Besides cooking, gulkand has many health benefits:

    • it has cooling properties,
    • is a very robust antioxidant,
    • it is used with other ingredients to detoxify the body,
    • can also help in digestion,
    • also helps in calming the body.

How to make Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake?

Start off by adding all the ingredients to a blender. Mix until smooth and well blended. For a smooth and silky taste, I have added milk along with half and half to this milkshake. But feel free to substitute milk and half and half with vegan options.

The sweetness comes in the form of honey. Honey can be swapped with 1/4 cup of condensed milk. Sieve the milkshake through a strainer and pour into glasses. Finish the drink off with silvered nuts, dried rose petals and serve. It’s so good that everyone will come back for seconds. 😉

What is so cool about this Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake?

This pretty pink drink is made with minimal ingredients and it:

    • comes together in a jiffy
    • is rich
    • velvety
    • flavorful
    • perfectly sweet
    • and extremely indulgent!

In short, it’s a delectable treat perfect for all ages. Kids and adults alike can enjoy this drink together! This year celebrate the festival of colors with this delicious Gulkand Strawberry Milkshake. I encourage you to give this recipe a try and share your feedback! If you have questions related to this recipe, send me an email and I would be happy to answer them. I have homemade Gulkand with me. Can u suggest some ice cream recipe or some other recipe which uses Gulkand in it. I want to finish that Gulkand before it goes bad. Moreover, the Gulkand is really tasty so I don’t want to waste it. Thanks in advance 😊😊
