Today’s recipe, Minced Chicken Puffs with Puff Pastry Sheets will surely make your holiday celebration a lot more flavorful and appetizing!

Now onto the recipe!

Among all the appetizers, Puff Pastry Snack is a must-have on my Thanksgiving menu and today’s recipe Minced Chicken Puffs perfectly fits the bill. 

The first step to make these these Minced Chicken Puffs, is to start with thawed ready-to-use Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry Sheets. Flatten the sheets using a rolling pin, cut circles and fill with your favorite filling. I have filled my Puff Pastry Sheets with minced chicken filling. If you are vegan or vegetarian, then substitute chicken for tofu or paneer (Indian cottage cheese).

Bake as directed. 

A perfect make-ahead filling!

Make the filling a day in advance. Store in your refrigerator. When ready to bake, remove from fridge and stuff your thawed Puff Pastry Sheets with this filling, bake and enjoy. 

Tip ! 

For a lovely golden color and a flaky crust always brush your Puff Pastry Sheets with an egg wash. They will turn out beautiful.

INGREDIENTS
FOR THE FILLING
  • 1/2 kg Minced Chicken
  • 3 tablespoon Ghee or Butter
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic paste
  • 2 medium Tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon Dried cilantro leaves
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Cream (optional)
PUFF PASTRY
  • 1 package (2 sheets) Thawed Pepperidge Farm® Puff Pastry
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Green Onions
CHANGE SERVING SIZE: PUFFS
CHANGE UNITS:
METHOD
  1. Assemble ingredients - onion, ginger and garlic paste.
  2. Chopped Tomatoes.
  3. And Spices.
  4. Heat ghee or butter in a pan and add ginger and garlic paste. Allow it to cook for a minute.
  5. Add chopped onions.
  6. Cook until translucent.
  7. Add tomatoes and cook until soft and mushy.
  8. Stir in all the spices.
  9. Mix until well blended.
  10. Add minced chicken or protein of your choice.
  11. Cook until chicken is cooked. Covering the pan for a short period of time will help cook the chicken thoroughly.
  12. Assemble rest of the ingredients.
  13. Preheat oven at 400 degree F. Unfold the thawed Puff Pastry Sheets onto a lightly floured surface.
  14. Flatten the dough with a rolling pin.
  15. Now cut large circles out of it with a cookie cutter.
  16. Take two dough circle and apply water on the edges.
  17. Place a teaspoon of chicken filling in the center. Sprinkle green onions on top.
  18. Cover the filling with the other circle and secure the edges. If need be, apply water to secure the edges.
  19. Repeat the process with rest of the dough. Brush the top with butter/egg wash.
  20. Bake in a preheated oven (400 degree F) for 20 minutes.
  21. Beautifully baked Puff Pastry.
  22. Transfer the minced chicken Puff Pastry onto a serving plate.
  23. Serve hot with dip of your choice and....
  24. Enjoy!
